Crazy price drops to Central America!! From $472 roundtrip after taxes

Update: December 13th - The fare war to Central America appears to be over. Prices on all airlines look to be back up to the $700-$1000 range.

Update: December 12th - The crazy prices to Central America continue, with Delta and Continental getting in on the action now. Delta & Continental look to have matched (and beat!) many of the prices put out by AA, on certain dates.
This also gives you a better chance of finding more reasonable flights (shorter stopovers, no overnighters) to Central America.
Here's what I've seen so far, using a 3 day flexible date search on Kayak...
Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) - $376 roundtrip after taxes (Delta: reasonable flight lengths both ways)
Tegucigalpa, Honduras (TGU) - $390 roundtrip after taxes (Delta: long flights each way)
San Pedro Sula, Honduras (SAP) - $397 roundtrip after taxes (Continental: long flights there, quick ones back home.)

There are some huge unadvertised price drops on American Airlines to Central America at the moment from cities across Canada, including Winnipeg. Perhaps the largest overall drop, ever.
- The drops are focused on dates in February, March, April, May
- The following cities are involved:
Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR)
Tegucigalpa, Honduras (TGU)
San Salvador, El Salvador (SAL)
Belize (BZE)
- Prices range from $450 to $500 roundtrip after taxes. For many departure cities in Canada, these prices are ridiculous.
- Try searching on AA.com and look for the ones that are around $140-$160 base fare (or less) each way.
- Note that many of the routes to Central America can involve multiple stopovers, including overnight stays, so be aware.
- You can also try a multi-city search on AA.com - flying into one city, and out of another, for a cheap price.
Can't find this deal anymore? Prices change as deals sell out. The key is to be among the first to know when an amazing deal is posted.
